I disagree -- Mike did throw the map in the creek on purpose. It might be fair to say he got what he had coming. And they were all stressed out (understandably) in the beginning of the movie when they are lost in the woods. I feel like all three characters acted poorly towards each other when they were so anxious about being lost.
